Porsche has unveiled the 911 GT3 90 F. A. Porsche, a commemorative edition created to honour Ferdinand Alexander Porsche on what would have been his 90th birthday — 12 December. Developed by Porsche Sonderwunsch together with his son, Mark Porsche, the special model is limited to 90 units. One is reserved for the family, and 89 for collectors worldwide.
The car is based on the 911 GT3 with Touring Package, retaining its naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six that produces 503hp and 450Nm, along with the Touring’s more understated aerodynamic package. As tributes go, this one isn’t resting on nostalgia alone; it carries the full dynamic pedigree expected of a GT-badged 911.
Design Rooted In F. A.’s Originals
It’s finished in the exclusive F. A. Greenmetallic colour developed specifically for this anniversary edition and inspired by F. A. Porsche’s own Oakgreenmetallic G-Series 911 from the 1980s. The model is also the first Porsche to wear the brand’s new Paint to Sample / Paint to Sample Plus badge on the A-pillar.
The exterior is further distinguished by Sport Classic wheels finished in satin-gloss black. Their modernised Fuchs-style design, central locking hubs, and 1963 heritage crest underline the model’s historic references. A gold-plated “90 F. A. Porsche” badge sits on the rear grille as the final nod to the man and the occasion.
Inside, Porsche has recreated F. A. Grid-Weave, a five-colour textile pattern inspired by jackets worn by F. A. Porsche throughout his career. This fabric appears on the seat centres, glovebox, boot mat, and even the briefcase supplied with the car. The rest of the cabin is lined in Truffle Brown Club Leather with Chalk Beige stitching, producing a warm, vintage-inspired atmosphere.
A walnut plywood gear knob engraved with F. A.’s signature sits at the centre of the cabin, while a gold-plated plaque on the dashboard identifies each example as “One of 90”.
The Chronograph & Weekender
Every buyer receives an exclusive Porsche Design Chronograph 1 – 911 GT3 90 F. A. Porsche Edition, built by hand in Switzerland. The Super-LumiNova with an aged-radium effect, the original Porsche Design logo, and F. A.’s initials above the date display all contribute to its vintage character. Even the rotor mirrors the wheels of the GT3.
A matching Truffle Brown weekender bag is included as well, lined with the same Grid-Weave fabric and finished with an embroidered anniversary badge, echoing the commemorative emblem on the car.
Porsche has also revived the Porsche Junior sled, a cult favourite originally sold in the 1960s. The new version is built from carbon fibre and Kevlar, finished in F. A. Greenmetallic, and naturally limited to 90 units.
Honouring The Designer Who Defined Porsche’s Identity
F. A. Porsche’s design philosophy: ‘purity of form through functional purpose, ’shaped not only the original 911 but also remains the DNA that continues to guide Porsche’s product and design direction today. The 911 GT3 90 F. A. Porsche reflects that ethos with a unique mix of impressive craftsmanship, motorsport engineering, and authentic heritage storytelling.
Rather than simply applying retro graphics or anniversary badges, Porsche has created a GT3 that feels genuinely connected to the designer’s life, taste, and legacy. It stands as both a collector’s item and a meaningful tribute to the man whose ideas helped define one of the world’s most recognisable sports cars.
