Bentley Mulliner Draws Inspiration From Dutch Masterpieces

Bentley unveiled three exceptional cars inspired by the greatest icons of Dutch art at the heart of Amsterdam's Rijksmuseum

Bentley unveiled an exclusive collection called “Dutch masters collection,” comprising three unique cars inspired by the works of three of the greatest Dutch artists: Rembrandt, Johannes Vermeer, and Vincent van Gogh. The cars were revealed at a sophisticated evening event held at the renowned Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, attended by over 200 guests, including Bentley customers from the Netherlands. The event combined rich artistic heritage with contemporary British luxury.

The collection embodies Mulliner’s vision, Bentley’s luxury bespoke division, of transforming artistic inspiration into tangible automotive details. Guests enjoyed a virtual tour exploring the three cars, followed by a sumptuous dinner in the museum’s gallery of Honour, in an atmosphere that reflected the spirit and exclusivity of the occasion.

The first car, the Rembrandt-inspired Continental GT Convertible, draws its colours and details from the famous painting, Midnight Emerald. The interior blends a red sash of Captain Frans Banninck Cocq, with soft magnolia and Cumbrian green hues. Subtle artistic details, such as the feather motif on the doors and the illuminated welcome lamp, offer a slight nod to the original painting’s symbols.

The second car, the Vermeer-inspired Continental GT, reflects the serenity of natural light and the blues and yellows characteristic of the artist’s paintings. Painted in a Sapphire satin finish, it features a panoramic sunroof that complements Vermeer’s interior design philosophy. The cabin boasts an elegant combination of Beluga and Ocean Blue leather, accented with citric yellow and vivid Klein blue stitching.

The collection is completed with a third car inspired by Vincent van Gogh. This Continental GT captures the spirit of his iconic painting “The Starry Night” in Dark Sapphire with Khamun yellow pinstriping, and takes a palette of Imperial blue, Dark Sapphire, Linen, and Khamun to evoke the artist’s unique vision. The car also features luxurious materials such as open-pore chiselled Walnut and knurled air vent organ stops in gold.

Each car comes with a bespoke presentation key box and is equipped with the latest Bentley technology, making the Dutch master collection a perfect example of the fusion of timeless art and exquisite craftsmanship.
