RØDECaster Video: Free NDI Update for Creators

RØDE has released a major firmware update for the RØDECaster Video, introducing powerful new features at no extra cost. This update is headlined by full NDI support. It makes advanced, network-based video production more accessible than ever. NDI, or Network Device Interface, allows for high-quality, low-latency video streaming over a standard Ethernet network. This eliminates the need for complex cabling.

This means you can now connect up to four NDI-compatible sources and send one output, all via Ethernet. RØDE has also extended this support to their RØDE Capture iOS app, allowing your iPhone to become a professional, multi-angle wireless camera source. The app’s Dual Cam feature even lets you stream from both the front and rear cameras simultaneously—a huge plus for dynamic, on-the-go content like interviews.

Beyond NDI, this update adds a suite of creative tools that enhance your workflow. New PTZ camera control gives you the ability to remotely pan, tilt, and zoom compatible cameras. Advanced keying tools, including Luma Key and Key Mask, offer more precise control for professional-looking graphics and overlays. Other notable improvements include the ability to use any video input as a permanent overlay, audio-linked auto-switching when paired with a RØDECaster Pro II or Duo, and cosmetic enhancements like rounded corners for layers and improved UI.

This comprehensive update cements the RØDECaster Video’s position as a leading all-in-one production studio, providing professional-grade features that were once limited to high-end broadcast systems. It is an ideal solution for content creators, live streamers, and broadcasters looking to streamline their production without compromising on quality or versatility.
