Favre Leuba adds new colours to the Chief Chronograph collection

Favre Leuba introduces the Chief Chronograph in two new colours – British Racing Green and Dune. They join the lineup of the collection which includes versions in Blue, Ice Blue, and Black.

Left: Blue. Middle. Ice Blue. Right. Black. Each on their matching rubber straps.

Key Features

Functions

Image: Dune on bracelet.

Central hours and minutes.

Small seconds on subdial at 9 o’clock.

Chronograph functions: Central chronograph seconds hand. 30-minute counter on subdial at 3 o’clock.

Dial

Image: Notice the circular brushed finish on the subdials and outer dial (adjacent to the minute scale), the arrow-shaped 30-minute counter hand, the tachymetre scale featuring printed details, and the brand’s hour glass 3D logo applied inside the dial at 6 o’clock.

Both dial versions feature a sunburst base finish. Multi-faceted hands and applied hour-markers feature a brushed and sandblasted finish and are coated with Super-LumiNova X1 (blue emission).

“The Chief Chronograph British Racing Green presents a bold, spirited take on a legendary colour. Born in 1903 with Britain’s racing pioneers, it became the shade of legends: of roaring engines, glistening chrome, and champions who raced not for comfort, but for glory. Favre Leuba now brings that storied hue to the adventurer’s wrist, capturing its heritage while reimagining it for modern exploration.”

“The Chief Chronograph Dune offers a more understated elegance. It’s warm, sandy hue sits between beige and soft gold, layered over a brushed and sunray-finished dial. Refined, contrasting tones, along with the lush rose gold–hued hands and markers, create a sense of balance and harmony across the dial’s architectural layout — subtle, yet undeniably distinctive.”

Movement

Image: Movement finishing includes Côtes de Genève, perlage, and thermally blued screws. The skeletonised automatic winding rotor features a colimaçonnage (brushed spiral pattern) and soleillage (sunburst) finish. Notice the brand’s logo engraved on the rotor.

Powered by calibre FLD02, a mechanical automatic column wheel chronograph movement that drives the hours, minutes, small seconds, and chronograph functions. It is based on the La Joux-Perret G113 movement. Jewels: 24. Frequency: 28,800 vph or 4 Hz. Power reserve: 68 hours (approximately).

Case

Image: Case features a brushed and polished finish. Notice the brand’s logo embossed on the crown. British Racing Green on matching rubber strap is my favourite.

Cushion-shaped case is made from stainless-steel.

Diameter: 41 mm. Thickness: 14 mm. Lug width: 22 mm.

Dial side features a curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating. Caseback features a sapphire crystal. Water resistant up to 100 metres.

Image: Dune on matching rubber strap. The case is screwed to the main case. Notice how the movement view fills up the entire case – in spite of being a round calibre in a cushion-shaped case. Excellent execution.

Both dial versions are available with bracelet and strap options:

Two-link integrated and interchangeable stainless-steel bracelet featuring brushed and polished finishes fitted to a butterfly clasp. Interchangeable dial matching – green and dune-coloured – durable FKM rubber straps fitted to a stainless steel pin buckle.

Our Thoughts

Image: Versatile, luxurious, and affordable. Favre Leuba is a brand to keep an eye out for.

The Chief Chronograph British Racing Green and Dune have a lot going for them. Gorgeous dials – each housed in a cushion-shaped case evoking 1970’s vibes, powered by a column wheel chronograph movement, and accessible to a broader segment of watch collectors. A compelling addition to almost any watch collection.

Earlier this month we wrote about the brand’s Chief Date Royal Purple, a new dial version of an hours-minutes-seconds-date watch.
