Air India Express Confirms Five New Routes

Two of them go live later this month.

One of India’s leading low-cost airlines, Air India Express (AIX), continues to expand its network under the new ownership. The carrier has announced the addition of five new routes. In the process, it will add three new destinations: Patna, Dimapur and Bangkok. Of the five routes confirmed, two will go live later this month.

Starting December 20, 2024, AIX will begin flying between Pune and Bangkok thrice weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The flight from Pune will depart at 08:40 and land in Bangkok at 14:30. The return leg will fly out of Thailand’s capital and arrive in Pune at 15:35 and 18:25, respectively. The fares start at INR 6,500.

AIX will establish another connection to Bangkok from the same date as mentioned above. This one will be from Surat, Gujarat. The flight from the “diamond city of India” will leave at 09:35 and arrive in Bangkok at 15:35. Those travelling in the opposite direction will board the 16:35 service, which lands in Surat at 19:35. This route will operate four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The Xpress Lite ticket prices start at INR 7,500.

From January 1, 2025, AIX will activate the Dimapur-Guwahati route. Scheduled for a daily operation, the flight from Guwahati will depart at 13:20 and land in Dimapur at 14:40. The return leg will depart at 15:20 and arrive at 16:25.

Routes four and five, both daily affairs, go live on January 15, 2025. The Bengaluru-Patna route begins at 05:55 when the flight departs Karanataka’s capital. That service is scheduled to land in Patna at 08:35. After a half-hour wait, the return journey begins at 09:05 and concludes in Bengaluru at 11:45.

Another connection to Patna that will join AIX’s network is from Hyderabad. The flight will depart Telangana’s capital and land in Bihar’s capital at 11:05 and 13:05, respectively. The return journey starts at 13:45 from Patna and finishes at 15:55 in Hyderabad.

People flying with AIX from Dimapur, Bangkok and Patna can find various connections to other cities across India. For instance, the airline operates 75 weekly flights from Pune to nine destinations. Similarly, there are 40 weekly services from Surat. Of course, those willing to add another stop to the journey will open more travel options.
