The New BMW M5 Duo Makes a Spectacular Landing In The UAE

Hint: The go-fast sedan and its estate sibling had their launch events at SkyDive Dubai.

BMW unveiled the new-gen M5 and its station wagon sibling, the M5 Touring, earlier this year. The German carmaker brought both models to the UAE without wasting much time, and the launch event left several jaws on the floor.

AGMC, the official dealer for BMW in Dubai, Sharjah, and the Northern Emirates, had quite an event planned. Attendees were invited to SkyDive Dubai, where the new M5 Touring was flown in a chopper and landed at the venue. Way to go! Why such a special treatment? First of all, it’s the all-new M5 duo, and secondly, they deliver their punchy keynote speech using a hybrid powerplant for the first time ever.

The go-fast models pack a 4.4-litre V8 and an electric motor. The peak output is 727hp/1,000Nm, enough for the sedan to hit 100kmph from nothing in 3.5 seconds (the M5 Touring takes a tenth of a second longer). The top speed can be raised to 305kmph with the optional M Driver’s package. The intelligent xDrive system and a slick 8-speed automatic transmission help make the package much sweeter. And for those who want to slither about, the rear-wheel-drive mode is for you.

Of course, the exteriors of both pure-blooded M models feature bold design enhancements. These include the Iconic grille, prominent wheel arches, twin exhausts, and an M Carbon roof (sedan). The front and rear fascias boast more aggressive-looking elements to accentuate the sporty character further.

Indoors, both cars have a plethora of gizmos to play with, including the new M leather steering wheel, a head-up display, four-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting and BMW Curved Display. Buyers can also rest assured with a long list of safety features and driver assistance systems.

The new BMW M5 sedan goes on sale in the UAE next month, whereas the M5 Touring will reach dealerships in March 2025. Pre-bookings are open, with the minimum token amount set at AED 50,000.
