Three Kia Models Get New ‘Gravity’ Trim In India

The new derivative is available with multiple powertrain options.

The Sonet, Seltos, and Carens are three well-rounded products that have helped Kia establish itself as a force to be reckoned with in India. While the former two have gained thorough midlife updates, the three-row family wagon will likely get those by early next year. So, to keep the excitement up, Kia India has introduced a new trim level – Gravity – for all three models. The latest derivative slots itself somewhere in the middle of the trim tree of Sonet, Seltos and Carens.

Sonet Gravity

Positioned above the HTK+ trim level, the Sonet in Gravity spec is available with the 1.2-litre petrol with 5-speed MT (INR 10.50 lakh), the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol with 6-speed iMT (INR 11.20 lakh), and the 1.5-litre diesel with 6-speed MT (INR 12 lakh). Buyers have the option of three colours of the exterior – Pearl White, Aurora Black Pearl, and Matte Graphite. The list of features it offers includes white brake callipers, Indigo Pera seats with Navy stitching, a TGS leather gear knob, a spoiler and 16-inch alloy wheels. The features list also comprises a wireless mobile charger, a rear armrest with integrated cupholders, a front door armrest, 60:40 split rear seats, a dashcam, rear adjustable headrests, and a Gravity emblem. The total variants in Kia Sonet’s portfolio have increased to 22.

Seltos Gravity

The Seltos Gravity slots above the HTX trim by offering additional features. The list includes a dashcam, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, a Bose sound system, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold. On the outside, the new trim level brings 17-inch alloy wheels, a glossy black rear spoiler, body-coloured door handles, and a Gravity emblem. Those planning to buy one will have to settle for one of three colour options – Glacial White Pearl, Aurora Black Pearl, and Matte Dark Gun Metal. The Seltos Gravity is available with the 1.5-litre petrol with 6-speed MT (INR 16.63 lakh) and IVT (INR 18.06 lakh) and the 1.5-litre diesel with 6-speed MT (INR 18.21 lakh). The count of variants has jumped to 24.

Carens Gravity

Those purchasing the Kia Carens in Gravity spec will get more features than in the Premium (O) trim. The added features include a dash cam, a sunroof, black faux leather seats, a D-cut leather steering wheel, a leatherette finish on the door centre trim and armrests, LED interior lamps, and a Gravity emblem. The powertrain options include the 1.5-litre petrol with 6-speed MT (INR 12.10 lakh), the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol with 6-speed iMT (INR 13.50 lakh), and the 1.5-litre diesel with 6-speed MT (INR 14 lakh).

In addition, Kia has confirmed that it has lined up two global products for the Indian market. One of them is the EV9, and the other is the all-new Carnival. Both will launch in India in October 2024.
