Wizz Air Announces Two New Routes; Adds Flights To Amman

One new route links Abu Dhabi with Moldovia’s capital, while the other becomes the airline’s second destination in Romania.

Abu Dhabi-based Wizz Air has confirmed two new destinations from its primary hub. Starting October 2, 2024, the low-cost carrier will launch flights to Cluj-Napoca. The service will run twice weekly, once each on Wednesdays and Saturdays, with fares starting at AED 259. Cluj-Napoca, also known as Cluj, is home to multiple festivals, theatres and art galleries. Among the many attractions in the city are St. Michael’s Church, Central Park, and the National Museum of Transylvanian History. It will become the second city in Romania for direct connections from Abu Dhabi aboard Wizz Air.

The second new destination, Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, will join Wizz Air’s growing network on October 28, 2024. The airline will operate three weekly flights between the two capitals from the said date on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Chisinau boasts a diverse history, with hints of multiple civilisations, such as Greeks, Romans, Ottomans and Russians, across the city. In addition to historical monuments, visits to memorials and cathedrals should be included in the itinerary. The starting fares to the Moldovian capital from Abu Dhabi are AED 209.

Wizz Air has also taken the opportunity to enhance connectivity with Jordan by upping the flight frequencies to daily between Abu Dhabi and Amman. Also, the carrier is running a promotion with low one-way fares until November 30 to various destinations across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The list includes Almaty (AED 319), Amman (AED 279), Athens (AED 199), Dammam (AED 89), Erbil (AED 259), Bishkek (AED 239), Alexandria (AED 199), Sohag (AED 169), Larnaca (AED 239) and Giza (AED 209).

Those planning to travel with Wizz Air should book tickets with Wizz Flex. This option allows travellers to change their flight up to three hours before departure free of cost or get a full refund of the fare immediately as airline credit.
