Second Update For The Second-Gen Audi Q7
In addition to a few cosmetic changes, the three-row SUV gains new features, colour options and décor choices.
It was in 2015 when Audi introduced the second-generation Q7. The sole three-row SUV in the brand’s portfolio received its first refresh in 2019. And now, it’s the second facelift that has been unveiled. Besides a few styling tweaks, the Q7 gains more features. Also, new colour options, wheel choices and décors have been added.
At the front, the octagonal grille gets new inlays. And those differ based on the variant. Flanking the grille are the headlights, which are LEDs as standard. However, there’s an option for Matrix LED and HD Matrix LED with lasers. Another way to spot the base version from the rest is that certain elements in the front bumper, door trim and diffuser come in contrasting colours. On the other hand, the S line exterior package ropes in more prominent side air intakes in the front bumper. One could choose the Black or Black Plus optics package to darken the grille’s frame, side window surrounds, and the front and rear bumpers.
Another addition is a set of new digital DRLs and digital OLED rear lights. Both can be configured to feature one out of the four pre-programmed lighting signatures through the infotainment system. Three new metallic colour options – Sakhir Gold, Ascari Blue and Chili Red – have been added. Audi has also introduced five new 20 to 22-inch wheel designs, all available in multiple finishes.
Other changes indoors are only cosmetic. The seat trim seams in the entry-level derivative are now grey. In addition, there are nine decorative inlays to choose from. The new ones include Natural Elm Burl Silver (for the base model), Matte Carbon Twill and Matte Brushed Aluminium with linear embossing in silver (for Q7 with S line sport package and for SQ7 TFSI). While the infotainment system has been updated to support third-party applications, such as Spotify and Amazon Music, the digital instrument cluster has been updated to display inputs from assistance systems.
The engine options include two versions of the 3.0-litre diesel (228hp/500Nm, 282hp/600Nm), a turbocharged 3.0-litre petrol (335hp/500Nm) and a twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 petrol (500hp/770Nm) in the SQ7. The most potent of them can hit 100kmph from nothing in 4.1 seconds and clock 250kmph before the electronic speed governors kick in. The SQ7 also has adaptive air suspension – an optional extra for the rest of the range.
The market launch will happen during the first quarter of 2024. The updated Audi Q7’s starting price is EUR 79,300. The SQ7, on the other hand, starts at EUR 112,000.
