BMW Debuts Top-Tier X2 In The UAE

It’s the M35i xDrive derivative.

The all-new BMW X2 first broke cover in October last year. The portfolio included petrol, diesel and, for the first time, an all-electric powertrain option. In the UAE, where AGMC is the official importer of BMW vehicles, the new-generation X2 wasn’t available in its range-topping petrol-powered form. That, however, has now changed. During the Hankook 24H Dubai race, the BMW X2 M35i xDrive made its regional debut at the BMW Fan Zone.

The BMW X2 M35i xDrive is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine that, for the European and the UAE markets, produces 296hp/400Nm. A 7-speed dual-clutch unit looks after the transmission of oomph, which is routed to all four wheels. As a result, the crossover can hit 100kmph from a standstill in 5.4 seconds and clock 250kmph flat out. The powerplant is complemented by a high-performance braking system and adaptive M suspension.

Some of the features that are part of the package include bi-colour 21-inch M light alloy wheels, an illuminated kidney grille, the M Sport package, a head-up display, a digital instrument cluster, a panoramic glass roof, an auto start/stop function, Brake Energy Recuperation for the mild-hybrid system and the BMW Digital Key Plus.

In the UAE, the BMW X2 M35i xDrive is available in various metallic shades, including blue, black, red, white and grey. The car imported to the UAE is built at BMW’s Regensburg plant in Germany.
