700 km Range and RWD Makes The New Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor A Fun Ride

The 3rd addition to the Polestar 3 range has a 111 kWh battery that can go from 10 to 80 percent charge in 30 minutes and a 220 kW motor that drives the rear wheels exclusively for more driver-centric performance

Who wants rear-wheel drive performance and more range? Everybody, I guess. And Polestar knows it! The Australian branch of the Swedish electric car maker has just announced that a new rear-wheel drive variant has been added to its line-up – the Polestar 3 Long range Single motor.

Exterior: Signature Swedish Minimalism; up to 21″ wheels

The Long range Single motor variant, like the Polestar 3 Long range Dual motor, retains the signature Swedish minimalist design. Key exterior features include a front and rear wing, active LED headlights, flush door handles, a panoramic glass roof, and 20-inch Aero wheels as standard. Customers can choose from 6 exterior colour options, 6 interior configurations, and 4 wheel designs, including the newly introduced 21-inch alloy wheels available as part of the Pro Pack.

Interior: Responsibly-sourced materials; 4.5-inch infotainment screen

Inside, the Polestar 3’s cabin is designed to enhance both driver engagement and passenger comfort. All variants utilize responsibly-sourced and recycled materials, and come equipped with a 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen with smartphone integration, 3-zone climate control, and electrically adjustable heated seats.

Battery & Charging: 111 kWh; 10 to 80 pc in 30 mins

The vehicle uses the same 111 kWh battery pack as the Long range Dual motor variant, with a peak charging capacity of 250 kW, which allows it to go from 10 to 80 percent charge in just 30 minutes on DC. It is also the most efficient Polestar 3 model, offering a range of up to 700 km on a single charge.

Drivetrain: 220 kW single motor; 7.8 secs to 100 km/h

The single motor generates a peak power output of 220 kW and maximum torque of 490 Nm, delivering power exclusively to the rear axle, thereby enhancing its performance-focused dynamics. This configuration enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds. For braking, it utilizes the same Brembo braking system found across the entire Polestar 3 lineup. The ride comfort and handling are managed by an advanced passive damper system incorporating Hydraulic Rebound Stops (HRS) and Frequency Selective Damping (FSD), effectively mirroring the driving characteristics of the Long range Dual motor variant.

Pricing & Availability: AED 300,530 approx.; Australian deliveries in early 2025

The Long range Single motor is now available for order in Australia, with prices starting at $118,420, which is approximately AED 300,530, with deliveries expected to begin in early 2025..
