2026 Triumph Trident 800 Unveiled: A New Challenger in the Mid-size segment

The 2026 Triumph Trident 800 has officially arrived, promising a new chapter in middleweight roadster riding. With a powerful triple engine, modern tech, and sleek design.

The 2026 Triumph Trident has been officially unveiled to bridge the gap between the more usable “Trident 660” and the performance-oriented “Street Triple RS”. The Trident 800 sits below the “Street Triple RS,” replacing the “Street Triple R” variant in the mid-size naked streetfighter segment.
The 2026 Triumph Trident 800 incorporates a heavily reworked 798cc liquid-cooled, inline three-cylinder engine derived from the Tiger Sport 800. Some of the key technical aspects of the engine, which differentiate it from its Tiger 800 counterpart, include a twist-forged crankshaft, high-compression pistons, triple throttle bodies, and a 12-valve DOHC configuration, making it capable of producing 113 horsepower at 10,750 rpm and 84 Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm.
The Trident 800 uses a newly developed lightweight tubular steel perimeter frame designed for agility and responsive handling. The frame is suspended by a fully adjustable 41mm upside-down Separate Function Big Piston forks Showa suspension up at the front and a rear Showa monoshock with preload and rebound damping adjustments.
Braking duties are handled by twin 310mm floating discs with four-piston radial callipers at the front and a 220mm disc with a single-piston calliper at the rear, both equipped with cornering ABS supported by a 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). Additionally, the IMU also supports the lean angle-sensitive traction control. Other rider aids include three riding modes (Road, Sport, and Rain), Triumph Shift Assist for clutchless gear changes, and cruise control.
Trident 800 gets a modern 3.5-inch TFT gauge cluster, which displays information related to the riding modes and other rider-centric information for the rider to toggle through — the gauge cluster also allows for Bluetooth connectivity managed through “My Triumph system”. The lighting system is all-LED, including a round DRL headlight and self-cancelling indicators.
Design-wise, the Trident 800 borrows similar roadster design cues from its younger sibling — The Trident 660, but with much more ruggedness and sharp lines added to the final recipe. With an upswept exhaust tiding up the rear nicely.
The Trident 800 comes with three colour options —Ash Grey with red detailing, Carnival Red with graphite accents, and Jet Black. The gold-finished wheels come as standard across the palette. Triumph also offers a select few options for the rider to choose from, which include a titanium Akrapovič silencer.
The Trident 800 launch is among Triumph’s ambitious 29-model launch in a period of 6 months. The availability of the model for delivery shall be around March 2026 for the European market, and the international launch shall follow suit, which also includes the Middle East and India.
