The 2026 KTM 990 RC R Track is a non-street, track-only version of the 990 RC R supersports platform, unveiled last year. The 990 RC R Track is specifically designed for riders looking for a serious time attack machine.

What has KTM done to make it more track-ready?

KTM has taken the stock form of the 990 RC R platform and taken a no-compromise approach towards building a track-ready supersports, by doing away with equipment not necessary for the track, such as lights, mirrors, and the side stand, stripping unnecessary weight and simplifying the machine for track use.

Furthermore, the KTM 990 RC R Track features MotoGP-inspired aerodynamic winglets and edges fixed to an injected plastic fairing, a higher windscreen for tackling windblast on the track, a wet-weather tail light, and a paddock stand as standard. New braking hardware specific to the 990 RC R Track from  Brembo, featuring a 320mm front disc paired with Brembo HyPure callipers and A 240mm rear disc.

The KTM 990 RC R Track runs on the Michelin Power Slick tyres straight from the factory, proper slicks for track use rather than road-legal rubber seen on the standard 990 RC R. KTM lists sizes as 120/70-R17 at the front and 190/55-R17 at the rear.

What’s the engine capacity and output?

The KTM 990 RC R Track uses a 947cc parallel-twin DOHC LC8c engine. The parallel twin produces 135  HP  and 105 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. The engine is paired to a racing gearbox with a longer first gear and shorter sixth gear, aimed at improving acceleration and top speed, tailored for track use.

Furthermore, the Track model also comes equipped with an Akrapovič Evolution Line exhaust system made from stainless steel, which weighs about 3kg only.

The KTM 990 RC R TRACK is priced at £15,599, with the delivery bikes reaching authorised KTM dealers from March 2026 onwards. KTM claims the entire order for UK allocations is already locked in and confirmed.
