BRABUS, a high-performance luxury tuning company from Germany, has unveiled its latest project in the form of a hypernaked motorcycle dubbed the BRABUS 1400 R Signature, based on the KTM 1390 Super Duke R Evo. Only 100 units globally will ever be produced.
No one in their right mind would take a proper look at the KTM 1390 Super Duke R Evo and say it’s not striking enough to look at — but that’s exactly what the guys at BRABUS did, they took a Duke R Evo and draped it in BRABUS’s ‘1 Second-Wow’ design philosophy.
Visually, the BRABUS 1400 R Signature features a “Midnight Veil” black carbon fibre bodywork and WIDESTAR aerodynamic enhancements for an aggressive, muscular stance, including the front fender, side panels, and fuel tank fairing padded with high-quality Dinamica microfiber. At the front, the motorcycle features a unique LED headlight with a striking daytime running light, inspired by Brabus’s signature stripes.
A more standout visual feature on the motorcycle is the custom BRABUS WIDESTAR carbon fibre side spoilers, which not only enhance the overall aesthetics of the motorcycle but also aid in improving the overall aerodynamics of the BRABUS 1400 R Signature.
The BRABUS 1400 R Signature is powered by a formidable 1,350 cc LC8 V-Twin engine delivering 190 hp and 145 Nm of torque. These figures are enough to propel the motorcycle from 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds, and a top speed of 168 mph. While the engine stays fairly untouched, BRABUS has nonetheless taken some liberty in redesigning and repositioning the exhaust system — BRABUS engineers developed a unique slip-on under-seat dual exhaust system.
The BRABUS 1400 R Signature is based on the 1390 Super Duke R Evo platform featuring an adaptive WP APEX Semi-Active suspension, offering electronically controlled damping to seamlessly balance comfort and outright performance.
Braking duties are handled by the Brembo Hypure Monobloc 320mm front discs and a 240mm rear wave disc braking system, ensuring confident stopping power. The BRABUS motorcycle rides on the Monoblock II EVO forged wheels wrapped in Michelin Power GP tyres.
Along with the Bespoke BRABUS bodywork that comes standard with the 1400 R Signature, BRABUS also offers its high-end clientele additional accessories and add-ons to enhance their ownership experience — the list includes: a premium exhibition carpet, carbon fibre key box, and leather key cover, emphasising the bespoke experience of owning a rare motorcycle.
