Porsche 911 Turbo Remastered Will Be Auctioned During The Icons Of Porsche Festival This Year

The 50 Years of Turbo celebrations continue with a one-off special car.

During this year’s Icons of Porsche Festival in Dubai, the annual event that has established itself as a highlight of the region’s automotive community, RM Sotheby’s will auction a unique 911 Turbo Remastered online.

The car was first unveiled at last year’s festival to kick off the global celebrations of the “50 Years of Turbo” anniversary.

The online auction will begin on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, and conclude in the evening on Sunday, November 24. The car will be live on the Icons of Porsche Main Stage.

The unique 911 Turbo Remastered is a modern interpretation of the original 911 Turbo prototype gifted to Louise Piëch in 1974. It also showcases the extensive capabilities of the Sonderwunsch Special Order Programme. Sonderwunsch is the special order department of both Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur and Porsche Classic, which takes customisation to the highest level, where almost anything is possible. Hence the motto: “You dream it, we build it.”

The Porsche 911 Turbo, which belongs to the 992 generation of the German manufacturer’s most famous model, needs no introduction. It has a 3.9-litre six-cylinder boxer engine featuring symmetrical VTG turbochargers with electrically controlled bypass valves capable of generating 580 hp, 40 hp more than the previous generation.

For the highest level of excellence, the Porsche Sonderwunsch programme offers personalisation services for the unique sports cars produced by the most successful German manufacturer in motorsports, with a combination of skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail. Porsche is thus reviving the legendary Sonderwunsch programme from the late 1970s to enable one-of-a-kind individual cars – created in collaboration with the customer and professionally produced by Porsche.

The scope of services includes individual customer requests for colours and materials directly in production and subsequent modification after the vehicle has been delivered to the customer. In practice, everything in compliance with local regulatory requirements is possible, from new colours and equipment for existing vehicles to creating unique individual cars based on customer requests.
