Mahindra launches Global Pik Up as a lifestyle pickup truck

Indian automaker Mahindra appears to be on the offensive with its plan of entering newer international markets while strengthening its presence in existing ones with a range of world-class products, beginning with the newly launched Global Pik Up Concept. It gets built on the new-gen Ladder Frame platform with a satin-finish titanium-gold paint and promises to be one of the most capable pickups upon reaching production. Mahindra's intelligent 4Xplore four-wheel-drive system will be equipped on it, and the automaker aims to acquire a 5-Star safety rating using advanced safety technologies. Inside, the fitment of an infotainment system and immersive audio system will combine to allow the Mahindra Global Pik Up to appeal to the lifestyle pickup market. Upon final production, Mahindra will initially launch the Pik Up in existing markets, including South Africa, ANZ, and Africa MENA and then expand to ASEAN markets in a phased manner.

Mahindra Vision Thar.e is the electric avatar of the iconic Indian SUV

A day after the Indian Independence Day saw the “Vision Thar.e” electric off-roader concept make its world premiere. Mahindra Electric Automobiles Limited (MEAL), a subsidiary of Mahindra & Mahindra, unveiled this modern-day reinterpretation of its legendary Thar off-roader at its signature Futurescape event in Cape Town, South Africa. This new eSUV has been built on the INGLO-born electric platform, comes equipped with a high-performance AWD electric powertrain, and features geometric surfaces on the exterior comprising near-vertical windows to maximise space and create a commanding presence. The cabin fabrics are made of 50% recycled PET with a commitment to utilise uncoated recyclable plastics. Pratap Bose, Chief Design Officer, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said, “We have maintained the adventurous spirit and off-roading capability that is quintessentially Thar, but we have crafted a unique identity in the world of electric SUVs.”
