Gama Aviation To Welcome Three New Beechcraft Aircraft By Next Year

At the Farnborough International Airshow 2024, Textron Aviation bagged a three-aircraft deal from UK-based Gama Aviation. Per the agreement, the former will supply the latter with three cargo door-equipped Beechcraft King Air 360C. The deliveries will be completed by 2025.

Here’s what Marwan Khalek, Group CEO at Gama Aviation, said about the deal:

Strategically, the KA360C (King Air 360C) hits the mark, providing good, direct operating costs and flight performance with a highly scalable mission platform we will modify at Gama Aviation. The completed aircraft, on entry into service, will represent a substantial step up in providing pre- and intra-hospital care for the people of Scotland.

The new aircraft will help Gama Aviation to modernise its fleet and bolster its Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS). The SAS provides mainland Scotland and its islands with a national air ambulance service. Gama Aviation has provided air ambulance services to the SAS for over 30 years, with Textron’s King Air as a critical contributor. The SAS offers clinical staffing, while the rest of the supporting equipment and manpower, such as the aircraft, flight crew and engineering support, is taken care of by Gama Aviation.

Menzies And KLM Renew Business Ties At Amsterdam Airport

The Dutch flag carrier, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, and Menzies Aviation, a global service provider to several airports and airlines, have extended their long-standing partnership at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS). It is a contract for cargo and ground handling services at the main international airport in the Netherlands.

Per the agreement, Menzies will provide ramp handling services and a cargo warehouse for all KLM/Martinair freighter operations at the said airport for the next five years. Menzies claims that this renewal of the partnership with KLM will see its teams manage nearly 600 aircraft turns and handle about 100,000 tonnes of cargo annually.

The extension of their partnership isn’t surprising as their business relations date back decades. Presently, Menzies works with the carrier at over ten locations across Europe, Africa, Latin America and India.

Farnborough Airshow: Airbus And Abra Group Sign MoU For A350s

The majority investor of Avianca and Gol Airlines, Abra Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus at the Farnborough International Airshow 2024. The MoU involves five A350-900s to strengthen long-distance flight operations and increase capacity. The idea is to provide better connectivity from Latin America to the rest of the world.

The Airbus A350 can accommodate 300 to 410 passengers, depending on the configuration. With its aerodynamic design, lightweight materials, and new-gen engines, the aircraft can fly up to 9,700 nautical miles nonstop. Compared to the previous-gen jet, the A350 offers a 25 per cent reduction in fuel consumption, operating costs and CO2 emissions. Airbus also claims a 50 per cent reduction in noise.

Airbus has sold more than 1,300 aircraft in Latin America and the Caribbean. The European manufacturer has a leading market share of in-service passenger jets, with 800 already in operation and the remaining 500 are yet to be delivered.
