A Proud Moment For Volkswagen Group India

Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt. Ltd. (SAVWIPL), the umbrella under which automotive brands Skoda, Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche and Lamborghini are found, has bagged a Green Energy Certificate from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for its manufacturing facility in Aurangabad – the first automotive plant to do so in the city. According to the automotive group, the said plant has transitioned to 100 per cent ‘green’ energy, years in advance of its 2025 target. The certification came in after the plant commissioned a 980 kWp rooftop solar power setup to meet 40 per cent of its annual energy requirements. As a result, the production facility will post nearly a 48 per cent reduction in CO2 emissions every year.
